For a long time Pārdaugava has been a source of inspiration to poets and artists.
So it is totally understandable that you can't go for a walk through these narrow Streets without thinking of drawing something or at least taking a picture.
If craft fairs and open air concerts are something you fancy, you should definitely visit Kalnciema kvartāls. Bring your friends, your family. You are going have a great time.
In Pārdaugava you can also find everything you need to fulfill your inner artistic cravings.
At the beginning of Smiļģa Street next to a Russian Orthodox church there is an arts and crafts store - Zīmulis un ota (Pencil and Brush).
Also next to Kalciema kvartāls, at Melnsila street 10 there is another arts and crafts store called ArtDizain with a wide variety of materials and tools for sewing, painting and making jewelry.
I definitely recommend making your very own piece of silver jewelry. At ArtDizain you can buy silver clay powder by Silverdesign, with it you make silver jewelry in a matter of a few hours. Simply mix the powder with water, make the shape that you want and light it on fire with a small kitchen torch. For more instructions visit the Silverdesign website.
You can also come to workshops Kalnciema kvartāls.
See what you can make:
